Eight new plazas, gardens and pavilions provide an inter-generational gift to the people of the northwest. Below ground the catacombs of utility rooms and passageways have been wrangled and concealed from view, the public oblivious to the scale of the engineering marvel beneath their feet. The stations and precincts of Metro North West offer an elegant, robust architecture that gives poetic expression to the underlying engineering forces…
The landscape design seamlessly blends the building with its parkland site – with more than 60,000 new plants and trees – as well as the three revitalised colonial heritage bungalows in Rochester Park. Throughout the public parkland, we took care to ensure existing mature trees were largely retained, and then amplified the lush landscape with an extensive new tropical planting scheme that provides bursts of colour.
The transformation of Darling Harbour in Sydney, Australia, is the city’s most significant urban renewal initiative in 20 years – a once in a generation opportunity to remake a critical, central neighbourhood. The harbour-side precinct is now home to the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) comprising three exceptional new venues, a luxury hotel – and a new mixed-use neighbourhood is on the way.

Together with creative agency We Made That, we transformed a vacant property into the ‘The South End Ideas Shop’, a community hub for local residents to tell us their concerns and ideas. The community’s vision for the high street included more green spaces, a celebration of the street front’s heritage and a more accessible precinct.
