When is a Tower not just a tower? – When it is a workplace that unites a previously disparate company, a bustling urban precinct, and a heritage location revitalising the heart of a city.
Having redefined the skyline of Perth, Western Australia, with its 45-storey premium commercial tower, Brookfield Place also redefined the city centre at ground level, turning a dormant city block full of boarded up heritage buildings into a vibrant retail and entertainment precinct.
Dandenong’s Afghan Bazaar is the only recognised Afghan precinct in Melbourne, Australia. It has evolved naturally over time into a community hub centred around Thomas Street, home to a high concentration of Afghan businesses, ranging from cafés and grocers to social support service providers.

The layout of paseo de St Joan as an important 50m boulevard was first laid down by Ildefons Cerdà in his Ensanche project, approved in 1859. The new remodeling proposal sets two basic objectives: to give priority to the pedestrian use of the boulevard and turn it into a new urban green zone extending right up to Ciutadella park.

A shortcut, a pause, a sit, this mews provides both a garden retreat and a circulation spine to the new Pinterest Headquarters. Designed to be both a connector and an extension to the transparent Pinterest lobby’s moveable curtain wall, the site is composed of angled steel planters embedded with cedar slatted benches, forming a complex geometry and relationship of planter to seating.
Located in the heart of culturally rich South Austin, Lamar Union is a dynamic, mixed-use, urban infill development, embodying its surroundings. The project has reinvigorated this region of Austin and includes multiple structures that encompass residential, retail and entertainment uses. The project includes parkland dedication, as well as a central promenade intended for public use.
A body of layers that generate multiple links with the city of Eskisehir, Turkey in a unique way. The most important link is a “macroscale link” with the city which reconnects the northern and southern parts of the city with a continuous pedestrian street.

As an active exploration of urban space renewal in Z+T Studio, Vanke Times Central Plaza started from three aspects: improving the urban interface, ameliorating the public space, and shaping the business office environment. Following the theme of “Time”, we have created a series of landscape elements including: “Aurora Waterscape”, “Nebula Seat” and “24 Solar Terms Pavement”, aim to create a urban plaza with complete functions, distinctive features and characteristics of the time.

Together with creative agency We Made That, we transformed a vacant property into the ‘The South End Ideas Shop’, a community hub for local residents to tell us their concerns and ideas. The community’s vision for the high street included more green spaces, a celebration of the street front’s heritage and a more accessible precinct.
