Turenscape was founded by Doctor and Professor Kongjian Yu (Doctor of Design, GSD, Harvard University) in 1998. With over 500 professionals, Turenscape is a multi- disciplinary design team that provides quality and holistic services in: Architectural Design, Landscape Design, Urban Design, Environmental Design, and Engineering.

Under the leadership of Doctor Kongjian Yu in the past 20 years, Turenscape has planned and designed over 300 ecological cities and 1000 landscape projects in China. Projects are located in 200 cities and more than 600 projects are built and realized. Turenscape’s projects have earned great international reputation for innovative and environmentally sound designs and have consecutively won 13 ASLA Awards in the past 10 years and 5 World’s Best Landscape Awards at the World Architecture Festival.

Former deteriorated wetland habitat has been successfully transformed into a working marsh that remediates urban storm-water runoff and waste tailwater from the water supply plant. Since the wetland is largely under the control of natural, rather than human, processes, it is likely to become overgrown with seasonal wetland vegetation and ground cover, forming a wild and messy naturalized landscape.

In a legendary basin surrounded by high mountains, densely inhabited Chendu is in one of the most productive agricultural zones in China, romantically called the “country of the heaven.” The city of Dujiangyan (part of Chendu) was famous for its ancient irrigation works, the Dujiangyan Weir, which ensured the prosperity of surrounding basin.
After the park opened in May 2014, an average of 40,000 visitors used the park and the bridge each day for the first month and thousands of daily users afterwards. The local media exclaimed: “the whole city is crazy about one single bridge!” And now, the Yanweizhou Park has created a new identity for the city of Jinhua.
A site surrounded by intensive development and bounded by the creek at the west and an urban through traffic road at the east. It is a remnant landscape patch made of rolling hills covered with a mosaic of red sandstone exposure, vegetated patches of bushes and grass, and small patches of farm land, and a riparian flood plain down to the river basin, and a linear tree grove along the river edge.

In early 2010, the landscape architect was asked to design the Mei Flower Garden in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, particularly for the appreciation of the Mei Flower, also known as the Plum Blossom, arguably the most appreciated flower in Chinese culture. For over two thousand years, scholars have put in ink hundreds and thousands of poems and paintings appreciating this particular flower.
In a new urban development district, a park, called Santai Shan Forest Park, was planned as a catalyst to transform the poorly managed suburban landscape and enhance the land value surrounding the site. The strategy is a patchwork of flowers. The project celebrates the vernacular landscape of fields, orchard, forests and water features in the existing situation.
