Offenbach Harbour

Our design implements blue-green infrastructure to promote climate resilience. The plan is embedded with a range of innovative water-treatment solutions for retaining and cleansing stormwater before releasing it into the harbor and river. These include cleansing biotopes integrated into park spaces and the creation of new natural habitats intended to support riparian flora and fauna.

Rifle Range Park

With the aim of preserving Singapore’s rainforest ecosystem which is under threat from development and human activity, a nine-month baseline study guided the landscape design. The park design has revived the area, restoring its natural forest and wetland habitat, integrating water-sensitive solutions, fauna protection, heritage conservation, and inviting visitors into an engaging natural environment. Tangshan Ape Man Cave

The seemingly simple task of relocating the ticket office and expanding the toilet facilities presents an opportunity to create a space with distinct regional characteristics and contemporary value. The goal was to ensure that visitors gain a lasting impression of the venue through their experience. To achieve this, the design drew inspiration from the site’s prominent features—bamboo forests and canals. Photo: Hassell

Tophane Park Playground

In 2020, Carve was asked to design a play area in the historical Tophane Park. The exceptional setting, including a blend of ancient and contemporary structures such as the Ottoman baroque-style building, the Ottoman-style Mahmud-Han fountain and the modern museum and mall, quickly captivated and challenged our attention to create a playful as well as distinctive design. Beatrixpark

In looking for a sculptural form that is attractive for all age groups and at the same time serving as a meeting place, Carve designed an organically shaped sculpture that incorporates various play functions. By arranging the various functions in one object, the space around it is divided into three zones, redefining its surroundings. Photo: Marleen Beek.

This new ‘green heart’ of South Bank Parklands supports Brisbane’s leisure and recreation needs at a time when inner-city population growth is putting pressure on the city’s existing parks and public spaces. Visitors can relax and gather on the riverfront’s expansive events lawn, rainforest and subtropical pavilion, which replaces restaurants damaged in the 2011 floods.
