In 2020, Carve was asked to design a play area in the historical Tophane Park. The exceptional setting, including a blend of ancient and contemporary structures such as the Ottoman baroque-style building, the Ottoman-style Mahmud-Han fountain and the modern museum and mall, quickly captivated and challenged our attention to create a playful as well as distinctive design. The Roman Forum of Empuries, built 2010 years ago, is one of the most important monuments of the historical-cultural heritage of the Mediterranean. The work carried out on this area of the Roman city enables the 225,000 visitors from all over the world who visit Empuries every year to understand how the ancient Roman forum worked.

The main aim of the project was to integrate the urban space surrounding the Estació de França Train Station and the old Baluard del Migdia into the pedestrian network of Barcelona’s Old Town.This intervention will allow the connection of two neighbourhoods in the centre of town – the Ribera and the Barceloneta neighbourhoods- that historically were disconnected at this point.

For the first time in over 110 years, the security fences have been removed from the Sunset Heritage Precinct in Perth, Western Australia, and is open to the public. Once known as Sunset Hospital, the precinct is located atop a beautiful scarp overlooking the Swan River and is full of stories and character for local residents.
