Camphill is an innovative model of community-based elder care that creates an open and welcoming environment desirable to a wide community of elders and their families. Following an interactive dialogue with residents of a nearby Camphill Village, Dirtworks developed a site plan strategy to minimize site disturbance, capture the great views of the Hudson Valley landscape, and provide a framework for future expansion.

The design showcases the existing heritage trees and creates a vibrant urban open space that celebrates the rich history of the site while projecting forward an image of environmental innovation, design excellence and social equity. The design focuses on a careful mix of art, technology and lifestyle that places a huge emphasis on creating “outdoor rooms” that bind the adjacent developments together in a seamless, unified way.
The Simons Center for Geometry and Physics is a research institute devoted to exploring fundamental knowledge in mathematics and theoretical physics. The Center was created to provide an environment where researchers could exchange ideas and work across disciplines. The Plaza at Harvard University is a gathering space at the heart of the university, designed to serve students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the local community. Sitting atop the Cambridge Street Underpass, the site connects the historic Harvard Yard with the University Science Center and North Campus, and exemplifies a new kind of public infrastructure—acting as a model of contemporary sustainable design in service of rich and exciting social spaces.
The Eda U. Gerstacker Grove is a renovation of an underutilized campus quad at the heart of the University of Michigan’s North Campus, home to the Colleges of Engineering, Art, and Architecture.
